BARKtober Fest | BABC Unleashed

Who doesn’t want [doggy] beer and brauts? Yes, for the dogs and there is plenty to go around at this celebration. BARKtoberfest is a doggy event with a German-twist.  With fun events including the Doggy Beer Tasting (Cock-a-Doodle Brew & Beefy Brown Ale), special foods for the dogs (Hasen Duckenpfeffer & Brats-N-Tots), the Long Dog Dash and an All DOG Dash.

Think and Do Free Family Days | Rochester Art Center

The first Saturday of each month, admission to Rochester Art Center is free for everyone. Guests are invited to create original art pieces in the studio classroom, our Grand Lobby and occasionally off-site with a collaborative partner. October’s Think & Do Free Family Day is a celebration of all things textile. Local artists will lead art activities focused on knitting, weaving and felting with a variety of different materials and techniques.

Creatures of the Night | Quarry Hill Nature Center

Meet the nocturnal animals of Quarry Hill during this non-scary (and sometimes humorous!) family evening in the forest. On a guided hike of the woods and cave, you will encounter the “Creatures of the Night” costumed characters featuring a skunk, raccoon, owl, and bat each with a tale to tell about their night life. Refreshments follow the hike inside the Nature Center.

  • Hike is approximately one hour long.
  • Hike is most appropriate for ages 4+.
  • Terrain is not stroller or dog friendly.
  • Hikes are held rain, shine, or snow.

Join The History Center of Olmsted County in a celebration of our favorite beverage…beer. Welcome Minnesota Beer Historian Doug Hoverson, as he discusses the history of brewing in Minnesota. Local breweries will also be participating and pouring craft ales and lagers.

Ticket includes beer tasting, food, commemorative pint glass and admission to the lectures.
