I can remember as far back as kindergarten loving all things ART. Every chance I had growing up, I would create, draw, color, paint, and imagine beautiful things. I remember even asking for calligraphy kits when I was young for Christmas.
I chose to study Graphic Design in college thinking it could be a career for me where I could make it as a “artist” but found myself bored and feeling like I wasn’t using my talents correctly. After lots of prayer and making an impulsive decision, I took a totally different career path and found myself as a Cosmetology student at Aveda Institute – Minneapolis. I have been a stylist for 12 years and now own my own business called Tala Hair Studio.
I am also a mama to my beautiful 2 daughters who have tons personality and zest for life! Being a mama has taught me to slow down and create art again. It is funny how being a parent and playing with children reminds you of things you enjoyed in the past or the simplicity to STOP and be in the moment.
In the fall of 2014, I opened Christy Cass Art. I believe that everyone should have art in their homes that reminds them of the things that matter or is the voice for their dreams and goals. Check out my shop here and my Instagram here.
