High Fashion at Rochester’s Newest Grocer

1

I may be biased, but I think fall is the best season of all in Minnesota. Falling leaves, cooler temperatures, and fall colors all gently remind me that I can now pack up my shorts for the year.  It’s also my favorite time to pick up a few new pieces of clothing to spice up the fall wardrobe.   If you’ve shopped at our newest Hy-Vee store here in Rochester, you may have noticed that there is a new boutique shopping spot located inside the store called F&F.  F&F is a British-inspired brand of clothing that aims to keep their clothing on style, yet affordable. They have some stores in Europe, and are exclusively in the US within Hy-Vee stores in Minnesota (lucky us!)

I’ll have to admit, I was a little skeptical during my regular grocery shopping trips, as I watched the construction of the new space.  Sometimes, grocery shopping is a mission for essentials.  However, I was pleasantly surprised by the nice selection of styles that were available, just steps away from the frozen pancakes that were on the top of my grocery list.

After picking up a quick coffee for my stroll, I headed over to the new F&F space.  I was impressed by the layout.  There was plenty of room to guide my grocery  cart through the aisles.  F&F has a selection of women, men and children’s clothes, along with purses, shoes, workout gear, pajamas and more.  The fall selection is out, and it is definitely ready for fall here in Minnesota. They have a good selection of men’s and women’s pants, sweaters, and jackets.

I took my time to look around and found a few cute pieces to try on.  The sizing on the clothing is European, which means that you won’t find your “regular” size.  The store employees are super helpful in identifying which size you should try on.(Bonus – they do have extended sizes for us plus-size girls.)   I would recommend that you take a few different sizes into the dressing room.  And I do recommend trying things on, although the clerk told me that returns are very easy if they don’t fit.  I ended up buying things in a few different sizes, based on the type of clothing item.

I found a versatile black tunic and some basic leggings for boot season. It will go great with my standard sweaters that I already own.  Then, I fell in love with this sweater from the moment I pulled it on.  It’s soft, warm, yet not overly bulky.  It looked super cute with my jeggings and a white t shirt. Score! It just screams, “Let’s go get a pumpkin spiced latte!” In fact, someone else noticed it in my cart and tried it on as well (and ended up buying it!)

I enjoyed the dressy casual feel of the clothing at F&F.  Sometimes, as a mom, I wear my same stack of safe tshirts and comfy pants.  It is a little more dressy than what I would normally buy, but I am so happy with my purchases.  Overall, shopping at F&F was a great experience, and I will definitely be back!
