If you have not yet heard the word on the street, we may have found you a little gem in the heart of Kutzky Neighborhood; opening late this past summer, Forager Brewery is unlike any establishment found in the Med City.

You experience this theme throughout the restaurant; carefully curated art adds depth to the eclectic and dramatic decor. Forager keeps you looking for the next visual treat, revealing a new detail with each visit. Even if the food isn’t your thing (how could it not be?!) you’ll want to come back just for the atmosphere. Pilgrim style seating and deep comfy couches, you may leave having new-found friends in the party you shared seating arrangements with. Any night of the week you will find a mixed crowd, it is everyone’s scene here. The casual dining experience will make you feel right at home.
Cheerful and busy, this crowd is welcoming to those with and without children alike. The staff is hospitable and there is plenty of space for everyone to be seated comfortably. The food is local, sustainable and rustic. You will select from a small but well-rounded menu with an ever-changing daily soup, salad and entrée. Simple but vibrant, each bite will delight your palate and invite you to experience a unique twist on local flavors. My personal favorites: the forager board, pile of fries (that aioli!) and the cheesecake, oh the cheesecake. The menu features wood-fired pizzas, robust main dishes, and a kids menu with Mac n’ Cheese that will leave you hoping your little one doesn’t finish their plate.
Recently the ladies of Rochester MN Moms Blog were treated to a GNO at Forager; another contributor meeting aka meeting of the minds aka lots of talk about Rochester and our visions for our beloved community. They situated us in the Library; a semi-private room, rich yet inviting, making you feel like you have snuck into your grandfather’s cigar lounge (without the stink!). The room lent itself to our party of 15 or so perfectly, providing a creative and comfortable backdrop for brainstorming and connecting on a personal level. The beer is brewed right in the restaurant. Their menu features 8 of the 17 house brewed beers on tap at a time. Every second Monday of the month tours with the Head Brewer, Austin Jevne, are available from 5:00 – 6:30. Tickets must be purchased in advanced, you will get a behind the scenes look at where and how the beer is made along with a sample of the beers available on tap. If you are new to the craft beer scene or an avid craft drinker, you are sure to find a new favorite on tap. The same locally, foraged, passion behind their food is not overlooked in the brewery. With ingredients sourced, literally, in their own backyard, drinking a Forager beer is something you can feel good about as it supports Southeastern Minnesota’s farming community and intitatives.
Our favorite characteristic of Forager’s venture is the obvious passion; passion for community, passion for sustainability, passion for their craft. Their excitement and embracement of their neighborhood proves they will be a dynamic energy to the advancement of the Rochester, Minnesota experience. We were honored to be able to share our passion in their environment, it was an inspiriting night that reminded us of our mission as a contributor team.
