The Lazy Mom’s Guide to Mornings

The Lazy Mom's Guide To Mornings | Rochester MN Moms Blog

I own it, I am a lazy mom. I am not a morning person and I don’t even leave myself enough time to brew a cup of coffee for my morning commute (I just drink copious amounts of the stuff in the break room.) I have embraced the lazy, and this is my guide for surviving the mornings.

1. Make sure to hit snooze, as many times as possible.
This will ensure that your husband will get out of bed before you, he will begin his morning routine, and you will get 10-15 minutes longer to lay in bed with your eyes closed.

2. Stop washing your hair, shaving your legs, brushing your teeth…etc.
Ponytail, trouser socks, coffee-breath, problems solved.  You landed the husband and the job, now it is time to let it all go in trade for a few more z’s. Just jump in the shower long enough to wake up and evade wrangling the toddler into his {semi} clean clothes.

3. Take out pizza as often as possible for dinner.
This allows you to eat leftover pizza from a paper plate in the car as often as possible.  Nothing says well-rounded breakfast like a cold slice of Supreme on your way out the door. Pro tip: The garlic helps cover up your morning breath! #winning

4. Make sure you let your husband borrow your car when it is almost on empty.
He will have to fill the tank; no morning stops for gas that could impede on your precious extra minutes of sleep.

5. Never pack a lunch, for anyone in the house.
I am pretty sure toddlers can survive on toaster waffles and goldfish, husbands can survive on all that leftover pizza that will be laying around.  Just make sure there are plenty of quarters in your desk for the office vending machine.

There you have it, my most successful tips for surviving the mornings! Never “do” mornings again!
