Rochester loves Halloween!  There are plenty of fun and festive events for everyone…from the spooky to not-so-spooky! There are also lots of trunk or treats to choose from too.  Check back often as we add events as they are scheduled!

Wednesday October 19th

Wee Wednesday: Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Planter | Sargent’s Gardens

Pumpkins extend garden fun. Join the fun as we create a pumpkin centerpiece for fall decorating.

Trunk or Treat | Hope Summit Christian Church

A FREE family friendly event! Games, prizes, candy, and more! Come in costume and trick-or-treat from car to car.

Lumberjack Fest and Pumpkin Chuck’n | GamehavenClub

Scouts and Boy Scouts can participate in a day filled with fun events and competition. A great time for the whole family to watch and cheer them on. Build a catapult with your group to compete for the longest distance or most consistent throw.

Trunk or Treat | Farrel’s Extreme Body Shaping

Bring your family dressed in costume for some FUN and CANDY!

Cost: Donations graciously accepted – All proceeds to benefit Brighter Tomorrows, an outreach to families with children facing pediatric cancer.

Slatterly Park Pumpkin Carving

Join neighbors for candy, refreshments and cider. Pumpkins available first-come-first-served, donated by Cub Foods. Or, bring own pumpkin to carve. Be sure to bring your own carving utensils. Families welcome!

Special Needs Halloween | The Arc of Southeastern Minnesota

Halloween Party | Forager

Kid’s activities from 4pm-7pm with games, candy and a costume contest! Adult fun begins at 7pm with live music at 8:30pm. Special beer releases, creepy Halloween food, adult costume contest and dancing! And don’t forget to bring your four-legged friend as the dog costume contest is at 5pm! Your dog could win some of our Forager Dog Beer, coming soon for the holiday season!

Rochester BooFest |Rochester Public School Foundation

Over 40 different activity booths, performances, and more, this is an event you do not want to miss! While most activities are geared towards preschool through middle school, all ages are welcome!

Halloween is here, and the animals like to play with pumpkins too! Watch a naturalist place pumpkins in some of the
animal exhibits. The animals might play with or even eat their pumpkins!

Youth from our community take center stage to perform original poetic works about their lives and experiences, their travails and dreams, centered around the theme, “My Story, My Voice”!

FREE Family Day | Rochester Art Center

Children and their families are invited to create traditional Day of the Dead altars, decorate sugar skulls, and make papel picado, a traditional Mexican craft using brightly colored paper and scissors.

Day of the Dead Poet Slam | Rochester Art Center

Day of the Dead Poets Slam is a combination of a Poetry Slam and Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. A Poetry Slam is is a poetry competition in which three judges, chosen randomly from the audience, give poets scores and decide who will proceed to the next round, and ultimately choose a Grand Champion! Day of the Dead is a traditional Latino holiday that celebrates and honors the lives of lost loved ones through altars, crafts, parades, and more.
