Winter Session starts the week of December 6th andenrollment is open!

Nurture in Nature Therapy Services provides outdoor groups for occupational therapy, feeding therapy, and social connections in beautiful Rochester, MN.
Occupational Therapy helps people of all ages who have physical, sensory, or cognitive problems. Occupational therapists help with barriers that affect a person’s emotional, social, and physical needs. To do this, they use everyday activities, exercises, and other therapies.

nurture in nature

Caitlin Lamping is an occupational therapist and the owner of Nurture in Nature Therapy Services who’s worked with families for over fifteen years. She’s also a mother who’s faced these problems with her own neurodiverse kiddos. Now, she helps kids and families figure out what’s getting in their way, so they can find more success and joy in their everyday lives. Caitlin incorporates one of the most powerful tools available: nature.

Why nature? Tons of emerging research shows the benefits of regular time in nature for all aspects of physical and mental health. From an Occupational Therapy perspective, nature provides a perfect environment for highly motivating challenges. For example:
Can you catch the grasshopper?
Balance on the fallen tree trunk?
Handle the feel of the wet leaves and dirt on your hands?
Identify the plant we’re searching for?
Negotiate personal space when crowding around to see the brightly colored mushroom? Take turns holding the wooly bear caterpillar?
Nature is the perfect place to develop skills and build a baseline of calm and connection.

Nurture in Nature Services:

Therapy (including OT, feeding therapy, and sensory consults)
Nature Groups
Storytime (Starting on December 11th, 10 AM at SPARK!)
No Occupational Therapy needs? Your child can join a group as a peer playmate! Reap the benefits of regular time in nature with other kids and developmentally appropriate activities that nurture nature connection.

Nurture in Nature Process:

1. Connect: You’ll receive support right away and we’ll have a free consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
2. Intake: I’ll walk you through the paperwork – I’ll do the hard parts!
3. Evaluate: I’ll meet you and your child in your home, and we’ll start figuring out their goals.
4. Collaborate: You and your child start understanding what’s holding them back.

The goal: Support. Understanding. Your kid, thriving.
