The fall sports season is nearly here. Weeknights and weekends will be filled with practices, games, and tournaments. While parents do everything they can to keep their students safe while playing sports, sometimes accidents happen or a tackle was taken a bit too hard. A new walk-in clinic has opened in Rochester MN just in time for this fall sports season making it much easier to treat things like sprains and strains; simple bone fractures; hand, wrist, and elbow injuries; and pain and swelling in joints.
Olmsted Medical Center is pleased to announce that their Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic is now open at the OMC Hospital Orthopedics department. Patients can be seen Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM without an appointment, bypassing the busier and often longer wait times in the Emergency Department. The clinic will provide immediate care to recent bone and joint injuries as well as the injuries listed above.
“The opening of the new orthopedic walk-in clinic not only aligns closely with our mission, it also aligns with our first Core Value: “The patient comes first,” says Mark Herr, MD, OMC Orthopedic Surgeon. “Patients have shared with us a desire to have a walk-in clinic for their orthopedic injuries. We saw opening this clinic as a way to fill a community need. With the new walk-in clinic, patients can expect to receive the exceptional and compassionate care they are accustomed to at OMC.”
This new clinic will be helpful to parents seeking to treat unexpected injuries that can happen whether that be in sports, playing outside, or even slipping down the stairs at home. Keep in mind that all traditional bone and joint care including post-operative checks, surgical consultations, and chronic pain conditions, patients are asked to continue scheduling appointments with OMC’s Orthopedics department.
