With the cold weather upon us, it’s time to rev up those fireplaces. A fireplace mantel is the perfect place to add in seasonal decor and easy to change out quickly. You don’t need to invest in a ton of new items to bring thanksgiving into your home. I’ll show you how a few select items can go a long way especially when mixing it with other items you already have, AND I designed a free art print for you as a jumping off point!
1) Homey Traditional
The vintage art piece was a great find (bought at Junk Bonanza) because the colors lend itself to fall. Playing off of that color palette, we added the fall foliage and golden wheat. The books and vase were things we already had and the pumpkin was picked up at the grocery store. Art prints are the perfect thing to change out and this one I designed is a great reminder this time of year.
2) Simply Understated
Subtle touches of fall can go a long way, like the hydrangeas picked from the yard, a tiny pumpkin, and wooden candlesticks. Eucalyptus is an evergreen and is in season through October (and November in some places) and adds a fresh touch to this simple mantel. We got ours at Trader Joe’s.
3) Bright & Cheerful
Typically the mirror stays but to make a bolder switch, we changed out the focal point to a fall wreath. Because the wreath makes such an impact, we kept the other accessories quieter with various cream vases, a lantern, and reusing the pumpkin. Layering the frames makes it feel cozy and relaxed.
